SlimDril International supply orienting subs with Pressure While Drilling (PWD) capability, designed to provide real-time downhole pressure monitoring during HDD operations. These subs play a critical role in improving drilling control, reducing risk, and enhancing overall operational safety.
The system measures downhole pressure and transmits live data via wireline to the surface, allowing operators to monitor conditions continuously throughout the drilling process.

Grease-Filled Pressure Transfer System
The pressure module uses grease-filled access ports to accurately transport pressure:
Side port for pipe pressure measurement
Bottom port to transfer pressure from the specialised PWD orienting sub
This design ensures reliable pressure transmission while protecting internal components
Real-Time Downhole Pressure Monitoring
Pressure is measured downhole and transmitted via the wireline to the interface box and computer at the surface, providing instant visibility of drilling conditions.
Integration with True Gyde Software
Pressure data is monitored, displayed, and stored using True Gyde software, allowing:
Real-time pressure viewing
Data logging for post-drill analysis
Clear graphical representation of pressure changes over time
Configurable Alarms for Enhanced Safety
User-defined alarms can be set within the software to trigger alerts if pressure limits are exceeded, helping operators react quickly to changing downhole conditions.
Reduced Risk of Bentonite Breakout
Instant indication of rising downhole pressure helps minimise the risk of drilling fluid (bentonite) breakout, while also assisting in keeping the bore clean and free from blockages.
